Quid pro quo

Do ut des, salt for seeds, dollars for hours, tit for tat, scratch my back and I'lll scratch yours. Hume noted that private property, while not a natural right, is a necessity due to the scarcity of goods. The natural extension of this is the barter of goods and services. Barabing, barabang - capitalism.

I have embraced this concept and learned it does not just apply to salt and seeds, but to all aspects of life.

Theoretically, hypothetically, let's say I'm at the park with Peti Bacsi. Let's say that I push him on the hinta.

He will then help me out on the hinta springy thingy. It's a beautiful thing.

Red, white and blue

The morning of July 4th we went for a walk down to the beach. We had a good time and I got to walk in the water a bit. A word of caution - if you legugol while standing in the water, your popsi might get wet.

The Fourth was very, extremely humid. Almost Louisiana humid. On the way back to the car we stopped at the library where they had a Fourthapalooza celebration going on. There I was introduced to a truly, beautiful way to celebrate Independence Day - red, white and blue frozen sugar water on a stick delivered by a man in a pici truck.
Thank you, Youngstown, for giving us Harry Burt.

A day that will live in infamy

I love cameras. (Interestlingly, cameras love me back.) I especially love looking at the pictures taken with them. Especially if they are of me.

Yesterday, I had an amazing opportunity to do something new - take pictures myself. I was trying to take them myself with difficulty. I was then shown the 'gomb' I had to press and it was off to the races.

This is the first picture I ever took with no help. I called it "Nagypapa's knee and the kitchen wall." It is a picture of nagypapa's knee and the kitchen wall.

I have attached a link to my entire portfolio of pictures.

It gives you a much clearer view of how the world looks from my vantage point.

Roff roff roff

At the allatkert I saw a mami malac with a baby malac. They seemed to be really happy in the mud and dirt. It was inspirational - kinda like a Tony Robbins seminar.

Scratch that. It was so inspirational it was like a will.i.am video. I decided to try it out at home.

Unfortunately, I couldn't convince az anyam or az apam to join me.

Doing what the folks do

Spending as much time as I do with az anyam and az apam influences me a boat-load. I like to do what they do as I think what they do is what one does.

Over the weekend, az apam got out a bucket and some rags and washed the cars.

So, over the weekend, I got out a bucket and some rags and washed my car.

Then az anyam got out all sorts of cool toys for when she teaches geek camp in a few weeks.

Fölszállott a páva a vármegye-házra

I went to the allatkert on Saturday morning. As we were checking in at the front gate, I heard some kényes, büszke pávák howling...or whatever it is that kényes, büszke pávák do.

I looked up at the woman behind the counter and excitedly commented in English on the peacocks and how piqued I was to hear them without even having gone into the zoo.

I then turned to az apam and magyarul meseltem hogy milyen fantasztikus hallani a pavakat bombolni.

I then rushed in with az apam to see the pavak and discuss ships, shoes, cabbages, kings and sealing wax.

I then tried to get into the head of a pava, kinda sorta, not really literally.
