Chillin like villain

I had a solid weekend of just chilling. I needed to recover from the craziness of the previous weekend. Vomiting and hanging out with Piki Bacsi will take it out of anyone.

Spent some time going to the park with assorted parents and just getting back into the swing of things.

I also helped az apam collect sticks in the front yard. At least until I learned to climb up the retaining wall and we went back to the back yard where he could keep more of an eye on me.

Mark Your Calendars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like only a year or two ago that I was as small as this little gal in my arms here.

Well that was a while ago. Guess who's got two thumbs and is turning two....

This guy.

Back to the Future

I didn't have a chance to finish talking about Mama and Papa's visit before the Montreal stuff came up, pun intended. We had some great weather while they were here and played outside a gazillion times.

It worked out well. I love being outside. They enjoyed not being here. ("here" meaning at the place linked to, not here "here").

I had oodles of hours of fun with Papi and Papa playing foci on the porch. "Foci? " you ask. It's the offseason and I'm crosstraining. Remember, only 30 days and 4.5 hours until draft day.

Muveszek

Sometimes I lose sight of the fact that Keresztpapa is an artist. However, it only takes a little bit of hanging out at his apartment to remember.

I am used to az anyam getting ready in the morning, maybe putting a little bit of makeup on, whatever. But Piki Bacsi goes crazy and he's got all the tools - hair things, perfumes, foundation, even that odd little eyelash shaper thingy.

After this past weekend I need a serious dose of wearing my Browns jersey and throwing the football around.

One leg at a time

I don't want all y'all to think that my time in Montreal was awful. While it was, but not the whole entire experience. The first 16 hours were nice. I was quite excited to go outside...initially.

I tried to put my pants on by myself, I was so excited...initially.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1523810174530726985&hl=en

Then I got outside. There was a blast of cool air that was refreshing....initially. It was cold. Like, really totally cold. A cold wind was coming down. I'm thinking my vomit-ific experience was caused by a huzat in that mean, evil, cold wind.

A funny thing happened on the way to Quebec

Actually, it was in Quebec. I had all sorts of high hopes that I would have tons of stories and exciting photos from my Easter in Quebec, but I don't.

"Why?" you ask. I shall tell you. I shall start at the very beginning. "Why?" you ask. Because, it is a very good place to start.

Az anyam and az apam drove us up to Keresztpapa and Aunt Martha's on Friday night. Be careful if you store your foreign currency with your passports - the border guards get a bit suspicious when you hand over a passport with cash in it.

Thursday we had a good night of sleep and an enjoyable morning on Friday just hanging out with the Quebec Hegedusek. I even napped a little Friday. Then it happened. We were driving around the city with Martha Neni when I decided I didn't want my lunch anymore, so I orally evacuated it from my system.

Here I am mere minutes before the regurgitation.

I then proceeded to retch several more times in the evening. By the morning I had stopped the disgorgation, but had passed it along to az anyam. It was kind of like that scene in Stand by Me (WARNING: Do not click the link if you have a weak stomach.)

By then, I had enough of any place (Quebec, in particular) that makes me and az anyam that sick. I let az anyam and az apam know this in my own subtle idiom. "What is that nuanced way of yours, Mate?" you ask. By screaming and freaking any time I was in Keresztpapa and Martha Neni's apartment.

So az apam and az anyam decided it would be for the best if we left on Saturday and got some sleep in our own beds and didn't pass our bug over to Martha Neni and Keresztpapa.

Like with pretty much everything in life, az apam was right. So was az anyam on this issue. Getting home and sleeping in my own bed and being in familiar surroundings made a huge difference. This picture is from me in the car yesterday. I'm more than a wee bit happier than I was 24 hours earlier.

For Mature Eyes Only

While Mama was visiting, she helped az anyam with a lot of the cooking. Instead of doubling up on the help in the kitchen, I worked in my kitchen using the apron Keresztpapa bought for az anyam in Italy.

I was caught a bit off-guard. Az anyam wasn't there to answer the eternal question, what do you do once you've flipped the cheese? Then the answer came to, play hockey, naturally.

Food is Well

When the nagymamak come and visit I get to try some different foods sometimes. For example, Mama made palacsinta for dinner one night. Az apam gave me some with lekvar. They were aight. Then, I got some with chocolate and sugar. Those were AWESOME.

As much as I'm alright with trying new foods, I really like to stick with foods I know and love like, oh I don't know maybe, ananasz.

Exceptional, just like everyone else

Although I'm special and exceptional, I am still a 21 month old boy. As a 21 month old boy there are some things I must do.

At home I've enjoyed throwing kavicsok into the pocsolyak, but then with Mama and Papa we went to a patak. This was an awesome experience. There was a massive supply of kavicsok and I didn't even have to run down the driveway to throw them into the patak.

Reading really good

I like to share with others the skills that I have developed. When one has as many skills as I have, it seems like one is constantly showing off. Well, yeah, I am.

With Mama and Papa here, I was in fine form. I read quite a few books to them. The easiest way to impress a kindergarten teacher is to read books.

If the shoe fits.....

I am a think outside the box kind of guy. I try and work inside standard parameters, but when that solution doesn't exist I blow the box apart.

Take, for example, shoes. I am constantly putting on and taking off shoes. My shoes are a bit small and I'm not yet that good at putting them on.

So I wear the shoes of those with feet much larger than mine:

From the Frozen Tundra

Mama and Papa left Toronto to come for a visit in Connecticut. While there are a myriad of reasons to do this (like oh I don't know, me), I think the key one comes down to one word - global warming.
Canada is a party to the Kyoto protocol. This has solved most of their problems - their economy is booming, the wine flows like beer and the beautiful women flock there like the salmon of Capistrano. However, it also means they still get winter.

Here in the US, Bushitler rejected Kyoto in 1997 so we have had a really mild winter. The snow hasn't fallen much and when it has, it's melted right away. It's not quite a vacation in Cuba, but the way I got strapped into the stroller it felt a bit like one.

Hold on to those pupostevek, Ede Bacsi

Sorry, Csilla.
I feel I'm a little young to make this level of commitment. Really, it's not you. It's me.

I think we should enjoy this time while we're young. Maybe see other people. If we are meant to be together, we'll end up back together. We should still stay friends.

What? No. There really isn't someone else. Well, I have kinda been seeing someone. Her name is Leah. She's an older woman. We met at the library and played dress-up.

At that point it wasn't anything serious. But we had a few playdates and next thing I know, I'm at her birthday party at the zoo.

I hadn't been in the mood to eat anything all day, but then she gave me a cupcake.....and if that weren't enough.....

We played magically in the camera/picture/photo booth thingy. Wow.

Guess who just turned....

Round, round, round, like a record, baby

Over the weekend I went to a birthday party at the zoo. It was my friend Leah's 2nd birthday. Unfortunately, the weather was so rainy and dreary that we spent the entire party inside. They have a carousel at the zoo and az apam thought it would be fun for us to take a ride on the carousel.
He was wrong. I was not even willing to sit on one of the scary, frozen horses.

After I got some lunch and saw Leah go on the carousel I warmed to the idea of going riding. It also helped to go with az anyam.

Fortunately, parents don't need sleep

You may have thought that Daylight Savings Time would give me the opportunity to shift my schedule from getting up at 6 am to 7 am. This is what az apam thought. Very logical. It's not like I have appointments to schedule. If my body clock was getting up at 6 am on Saturday, it should get up at 7 am on Sunday if the clock gets moved up an hour. This was correct....for Sunday.

By Monday I got up at 630 am and today I awoke before 6 am.

My inspirational friend

Every once in a while az anyam and az apam let me watch a little TV. There is something I like to watch that so inspires, motivates, exhilarates, provokes and stimulates me that I feel like screaming, YES, I CAN!

He makes me feel, for the first time in my life, that I am proud to be an American:

What to do today?

It is such a beautiful day outside today I don't know what to do. The problem is we've had such great weather recently and I've been spending so much time outside, I've done everything there is to do.I'm not bored with everything. I'm having trouble deciding which exciting activity I want to dive into. Maybe other people can give me suggestions.....What are you doing in Toronto right now? Oh, shoveling. Shoveling? Dirt? Oh, snow. Lots of snow. That's a shame. We haven't had snow in a while.

Well, maybe people in Cleveland have ideas. What are you doing this weekend, Clevelandites? Oh, you're shoveling snow too? Ouch.

Never mind. I think I'll just throw stones into puddles.

Clevelanders and Torontonians, If you get bored, I have a great indoor activity. It's called organize fridge magnets. Az anyam really, really enjoys it.

Working around the house, watching the sun trace shadows on the wall

Az anyam recently bought me a desk or as it is more commonly called a workbench. With it I got my own set of tools, nails, nuts, bolts, etc.

This has worked out great for the whole family as I can now help with things around the house.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3161003921021576539&hl=en

Az apam is extremely grateful. Now, whenever he pulls out his tools, I pull out mine and we work on stuff together. When you have the two of us working on a task, it doubles the work required to complete the task. And that is the goal - increasing the time we get to spend working on stuff together.

What was that?

It's one thing to watch sports on TV. It is a totally different experience to play sports. And to go to an actual sporting event???? What is that all about???

Az anyam and az apam took me to a kosarlabda mecs. Go Pioneers! Az apam commented on how he hadn't seen me sit that still ever. I didn't really move for the first half trying to figure out what was going on.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5199560355252452716&hl=en

There was a lot of running and throwing of the ball. It looks like I had missed some of the finer points of the game.

There are some parts of the game that I still don't get. At certain points in the game they would stop and then they'd start throwing young women in short skirts. They never made a basket with one. It seemed like they weren't even trying to score, just throwing them up in the air.

And don't even get me going on mascots....What is up with them? Are you a person? Are you a sideshow character?

Ain't no stomp, like a froggy stomp

I am itching for a rain storm to come. Not like a wimpy little rain, but like the month of April in Connecticut. We're talking Noah's ark meets Hoover Dam meets Niagara Falls.

I'm ready to stomp some puddles like a mad, crazy frog. I'm ready to szplocs, szplocs, szplocs.

Let it Ho, Let it Ho, Let it Ho

We've had a few snow storms over the last few weeks. It is a lot of fun to play in the ho, but there is still a lot of work associated with the ho. The best remedy for all that work is to have an anyuka and an apuka to clean it all up. All it takes is a little bit of training:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8828317709386844789&hl=en

Once they're trained, I can go back to the important snow events like putting sticks in the snow and stomping. What is stomping? Professionals stomp this way:
I prefer to stomp in the snow this way:
