Mama and Papa left Toronto to come for a visit in Connecticut. While there are a myriad of reasons to do this (like oh I don't know, me), I think the key one comes down to one word - global warming.

Canada is a party to the Kyoto protocol. This has solved most of their problems - their economy is booming, the wine flows like beer and the beautiful women flock there like the salmon of Capistrano. However, it also means they still get winter.

Here in the US, Bushitler
rejected Kyoto in 1997 so we have had a really mild winter. The snow hasn't fallen much and when it has, it's melted right away. It's not quite a vacation in Cuba, but the way I got strapped into the stroller it felt a bit like one.
