Books is good

When taking a break from playing/watching football and playing/watching the kitchen I enjoy reading. What (you are probably asking yourself right now) does the future ruler of the world enjoy reading?

Anything and everything. Here I am early one morning reading liner notes from one of my favorite albums. It was a gift from Sandor for my birthday.

Here I am reading a Halloween book despite that holiday being 9.5 months away.

I really do love to read. Az anyam and/or az apam read to me every night before bed and sometimes before naps, but recently I've wanted to just go to sleep. While reading I really like pointing to my favorite things as they appear in the stories, especially the dogs which I call 'do', 'tya' or 'woofwoof'.

The next in a long, drowsy line

Az anyam is excellent at sleeping. Az apam not so excellent.

A nagypapam is an inspiration to us all. He is the daddy of the mack daddy when it comes to alvas.

The bacsik have picked up the slack az apam has given in the arena of sleep education.

For the first 18 months of my life I had issues sleeping. For the first half dozen months I couldn't fall asleep. Then I wouldn't sleep for more than a few hours. Most recently I had been getting up at inhumane, unhuman hours of the morning to attack the day. Much of this had to do with digestion and processing issues.

I don't know if it was hanging around people who had a true appreciation for sleep and sleeping in or if it was az anyam's revelation that maybe I needed more food to help me sleep longer, but I've been sleeping until 6 or 6:30 or even past 7 recently. The really amazing part is that everyone in the house seems happier now. I might just keep doing this.

Guess who's got two thumbs...

....weighs 26lb 11oz and is 35 1/2 inches tall....

THIS GUY.

That makes me about 50th percentile for weight and 120th percentile for height. I am well on my way to becoming a lean, mean football machine.

Christmas is only 343 days away

You may have heard we moved. My family has been getting set up in the new house. They have all of the furniture set up. Almost all of the boxes have been setup. Kis Gal Bacsi helped az apam get the rest of the stuff out of RJ Bacsi and Ruth Neni's garage on Saturday. (Special thanks to Kis Gal Bacsi, Ruth Neni and RJ Bacsi.) We now have a bunch of boxes in the living room, but the pile is decreasing.

I'm pretty comfortable in our new digs. Az anyam and az apam bought a new table for our kitchen. We eat there a lot, especially since the dining room was taken over by boxes.

Az anyam and az apam were even letting me drink out of a nagyfiu pohar. That experiment was put on hold shortly thereafter. Not because I had difficult drinking from it (note my 1-handed technique in the video), but because the cup had difficulty staying upright while I ate my meals.

The Yin to my football Yang

I'm just a modern guy. Not only am I hardcore about football, but I also love my cooking. There's plenty of history on that - this Christmas, 14 months, 13.5 months, 13 months, 1 yr old, etc.

Thus, the other theme for Christmas gifts was cooking. Between Keresztmama and Julian Bacsi and Nagymama and Nagypapa, I received not only a kitchen, but a whole lot of play food and a microwave and a shopping cart and pots and pans.

Pak Bacsi got to play with the cart first.

The tough part was that the kitchen arrived at the old house before the move, but I didn't get to play with it until we got back to CT and settled a bit in the new house. But now I'm playing with it, oh yes, I'm playing with it a ton.

Playing the foolsball

There were some definite themes in the gifts I received this Christmas. People surprised me with how well they know my love of football.

I received a wicked Brady Quinn jersey from Pak Bacsi. I was hoping for Charlie Frye, who knew you'd have to pounce so quickly to get one?

I received several footballs - one from Peti Bacsi and Robi Bacsi, one from Balazs Bacsi and Zsuzsanna Neni and a thick, heavy leather one from Tony Bacsi. The one from Tony Bacsi has become the official outdoor football as the breakable goods in the house almost staged a walkout when I started throwing that ball around the house. Fortunately, the other ones I received are good indoor balls.
I played a lot of football when I was in Cleveland because I almost always had somebody to play with. I played some with Robi Bacsi, but we didn't get around to those tackling lessons. I'll have to teach him next time.
I played some with Pak Bacsi. Az erdoben Pak Bacsi.

I played with my cousins, Sari and Sandor, and with Robi Bacsi's evil twin brother, Salam.

And even with all these people around I sometimes played by myself:
