It means there was football. You are probably saying to yourself, "Self, Mate seems to be playing football all the time. Surely, there is an appropriate time for playing football and an appropriate time for doing other things." WRONG. Any and all time is a good time for football.
This weekend I got to play football with Nagypapa. Note the dark windows and the pajamas. 6am is a great time for football.
